Rick Lehmann
Partner & Founder of Lehmann Major List
Rick is a partner and founder of Lehmann Major List, PLLC. Rick specializes in matters involving open and accountable government, personal injury, defamation and reputational harm, criminal defense and civil rights. Rick’s cases reflect a strong belief that the government should be open, responsive and serve its citizens equally, regardless of their political, social or religious views. Rick has won several precedent-setting cases in New Hampshire state and federal courts. In 2009, he secured the release of a man serving a prison sentence for a double negligent homicide by scientifically proving that his client could not have committed the acts he was imprisoned for. In 2016, he successfully challenged the refusal of a school district to provide public records in electronic format, establishing precedent that has helped to ensure that citizens can access public records cheaply and efficiently.
Rick has been involved in numerous high-profile police accountability and civil rights cases, including police shootings, excessive force, and wrongful arrest matters. Rick also has had a long career serving as counsel to public entities. He is serving his eighth term as legal counsel to the New Hampshire Senate.
